Licenciado en Bellas Artes (Bachelor of Fine Arts) in 2003 and Doctor en Bellas Artes (PhD of Fine Arts) in 2006, from the Universitat Politècnica de València. I am also a Specialist in Conservation and Restoration of Historical-Artistic Heritage (UPV-2004), Specialist in University Pedagogy (UPV-2006) and Higher Technician in Occupational Risks Prevention (SGS-2009). My teaching activity has been developed during the last 17 years (from 2004 to present) at the Universitat Politècnica de València and I have directed more than 70 Trabajos Fin de Grado_TFG (Bachelor's Thesis) / Trabajos Fin de Máster_TFM (Master's Thesis). I made also several teaching stays at the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara (Italy_2008) and Bologna (Italy_2019). I have taught in different degrees. Currently, I teach in the Degree in Conservación y Restauración de Bienes Culturales, also in the Master of Conservación y Restauración de Bienes Culturales. I have taught more than 15 courses in different organizations: public and private institutions, and other universities. In all cases, the topic of the courses was related to sculpture, materials and techniques, diagnosis and deterioration, conservation and restoration treatments. The main lines of research that I develop focus primarily on the analysis and durability of stone materials vs organic / inorganic mortars, and on methods of reconstruction of the sculptural / ornamental volume and architectural elements. More specifically, in recent times, my research work has been related to the development of intelligent prosthetics obtained through the use of 3D registration technologies and additive manufacturing tools. Likewise, the prostheses incorporate an adhesion system using magnetic systems that prevent invasive treatments in the artwork. I direct this research line at the Instituto de Restauración del Patrimonio (IRP_UPV). These lines of research have been developed in different research projects through local and national government grants since 2004. I have been participant in 16 R&D projects granted through competitive calls for proposals. I have been co-signatory on 76 publications in magazines, books and chapters; and more than 120 artistic contributions / exhibitions and communications to congresses. I have developed a remarkable technology transfer activity through contracts (more than 17) with different companies, as well as with public administrations, always in the field of Cultural Heritage. The objective of these collaborations has been, mainly, the analysis of the work of art, its diagnosis and restoration treatment; or, the design of elements or technological solutions for the treatment of sculptures / ornaments of the Cultural Heritage. I am also a signatory of 2 invention patents. I was Deputy Director of Infrastructure of the department of Conservación y Restauración de Bienes Culturales (UPV_2012-2020) and, since 2021, I am Director of the Master of Conservación y Restauración de Bienes Culturales in the same department.
